'The Silence Breakers' win Time Magazine's Person Of The Year

By Jasmine Shaw

Praise be, women (and men). Time Magazine's Person Of The Year is the brave women and men who came forward to take down sexual assault and harassment.

This is a big deal. We went from Donald Trump being last year's person of the year, and this year he is featured as one of the accused. This year, we celebrate the #MeToo movement, and those who are confronting sexual assault head-on, by taking down the powerful men who abuse their high profile and power. Investigations led by both The New York Times and The Yorker, exposing Harvey Weinstein's years of abuse, encouraged victims to come forward. Since then, numerous men have been fired.
